About this website
|
This website brings together a range of resources to support researchers conducting research involving adults with impaired capacity to consent. It also contains tools such as the NIHR INCLUDE Impaired Capacity to Consent Framework and CONSULT training on how to design and conduct trials involving adults with impaired capacity to consent, OPTIMISE recommendations for inclusive consent processes, and information and decision support for families acting as a consultee or legal representative.
The resources are intended to be relevant for all populations/contexts where capacity to consent may be affected, with a number of resources for particular populations. The website has been developed as part of the CONSULT project. See links below for an infographic summary and a report describing the project's activities and key findings. |

Research PathwayResearch needs to be designed to be inclusive of under-served groups, such as adults with impaired capacity to consent, at all stages of the lifecycle of a study. This includes from the initial research idea through to dissemination and implementation of the findings.
Please download the pathway to see our resources to support the inclusion of adults with impaired capacity in research organised by stages of the research pathway, with hyperlinks to the relevant website pages. |
